A Nature Play School is an early childhood program that is held completely outside through all the seasons. We follow the child with what nature presents and what they are interested in each day through child led play, exploration, and hands on learning.

We follow an emergent curriculum based on what we are presented with each day by the world around us. Along with the emergent curriculum we engage the children by asking questions: What did you find? How do you think it got there? How does it feel? How fast is it moving? etc. There is no right or wrong answer. Inquiry based teaching fosters curiosity, allows students to take ownership of their learning, and creates a love of learning.
The majority of the time students are engaged and learning through play. Everyday they are working through social emotional challenges together and on their own. They consider themselves a cohesive group and look out for one another.
A Nature Play School gives children the opportunity to feel connected to the natural world, a community, and themselves. All of the skills they develop through play and exploration will set them up for success through life. These children grow in confidence, self-esteem and intrinsic motivation all while having fun and engaging with the world around them.
